Artist Statement

spooky, unsettling, & kinda cute...

My art is an expression of elation and anguish. It encapsulates the perpetual movement between hope in desperation, moments of overcoming, and then of being pushed back down again. Although I am not afraid to branch out, the seed of the tree has always been painting. Using paint, fabric, colored pencils, ink, and markers, I create my world of whimsical horror. My work is meant to induce empathy through playful coloring, body horror, and magical whimsy.
